The Role

We're looking for a Head of Operations & Compliance to build and scale the operational backbone of Pakistan's leading digital wealth management platform. You'll own three critical pillars: User Operations (customer onboarding, KYC, support), Fund Operations (NAV calculations, reconciliations, fund accounting), and Finance (treasury, financial reporting, audit management). This is a high-impact role where you'll establish processes, build teams, and ensure we scale compliantly while preparing for Series A fundraising.

This role reports directly to the CEO and will manage a team of 5-8 people across operations, compliance, and finance functions.

What You'll Do

Fund Operations 

  • Oversee daily NAV calculations for Save+, Retirement VPS, and MIIETF with 100% accuracy
  • Manage fund accounting, transaction processing, and unit allocation/redemption workflows
  • Coordinate with CDC for transaction settlements, unit registrations, and reconciliations
  • Ensure timely and accurate fund administration including dividend distributions and corporate actions
  • Manage relationships with fund trustees, auditors, and custodians (IGI Life Insurance, CDC)
  • Oversee portfolio rebalancing, cash management, and investment execution
  • Prepare and submit regulatory filings to SECP (quarterly reports, annual audited financials, incident reports)
  • Implement and maintain fund accounting systems and automation tools
  • Monitor fund performance metrics and prepare investment committee reports

User Operations 

  • Design and optimize customer onboarding workflows (digital KYC, account opening, deposit processing)
  • Manage end-to-end customer lifecycle operations: onboarding, transactions, withdrawals, account closures
  • Oversee customer support operations and establish SLAs (response time, resolution time, CSAT)
  • Build and manage relationships with banking partners for deposit/withdrawal processing
  • Implement fraud detection and AML monitoring systems
  • Handle customer escalations and complaints with speed and empathy
  • Build operational dashboards to track key metrics (TAT, error rates, customer satisfaction)
  • Work with product/engineering to eliminate operational bottlenecks and automate manual processes
  • Manage operational staff and establish training programs for quality assurance

Compliance & Regulatory 

  • Ensure full compliance with SECP regulations, CDC requirements, and applicable laws
  • Maintain and update compliance frameworks (AML/CFT policies, KYC procedures, data protection)
  • Conduct regular compliance audits and risk assessments
  • Manage SECP inspections, regulatory inquiries, and license renewals
  • Implement internal controls and governance frameworks
  • Oversee KYC/AML compliance including CDD, EDD, and PEP screening
  • Coordinate with legal counsel on regulatory matters and policy changes
  • Train team on compliance requirements and maintain compliance culture
  • Monitor regulatory changes and ensure timely implementation

    Required:
  • 5-7 years experience in operations, compliance, or finance within asset management, mutual funds, or financial services
  • Deep understanding of Pakistan's regulatory framework (SECP regulations, NBFC rules, AML/CFT laws)
  • Experience managing fund operations including NAV calculations, fund accounting, and regulatory reporting
  • Strong knowledge of KYC/AML requirements and customer onboarding processes
  • Proven track record building and scaling operational teams
  • Experience working with CDC, fund trustees, auditors, and regulatory bodies
  • Strong project management skills—able to juggle multiple workstreams simultaneously
  • Excellent communication skills for internal teams, regulators, and external partners
  • Process-oriented mindset with focus on automation and operational efficiency
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field

Preferred:

  • CA, ACCA, ICMA, or relevant professional certification
  • Previous experience in a fintech or digital-first financial services company
  • Experience preparing for and managing regulatory audits and inspections
  • Familiarity with fund administration software and financial systems
